A video of a man offering his shirt and hat to a homeless man on the subway is going viral today.
The video was posted to Facebook by Lazaro Nolasco who was a passenger on the Brooklyn-bound train. In the clip, a man approaches a shirtless sickly looking man and offers him the shirt off his own back. He then returns and offers the man his hat.
Nolasco spoke to NY Daily News about the incident.
“The guy didn’t have a shirt on” he said, “his body looked sick.”
The unidentified passenger, known only as Jay approached the man and asked if he wanted a shirt. He then asked if he wanted to go to the hospital.
The man said yes on both counts.
“The guy did a good deed, so I wanted to record it,” Nolasco said. “I would tell him, ‘God bless him.’ That was thoughtful.”
The video has since gained over 8 million views on Facebook.
