According to reports, a man was shot dead in Paris this morning after trying to enter a police station with a knife.
Sky News reports that the incident happened near Rue de la Goutte d’Or in the 18th arrondissement at around 12pm local time.
Le Parisien has said that the man was also wearing a vest carrying explosives and a number of officers spotted wires extending from his clothing.
Anna Poloyni, editor with the International New York Times, posted a photo to Twitter which appears to show the man’s body inspected by a bomb disposal robot.

Police have sealed off the area and people living in the area have been told to close their windows and stay indoors.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the attack in which 12 people lost their lives after two gunmen entered the offices of the satirical newspaper, Charlie Hebdo.
