Limerick Man’s Wife And Father-In-Law Charged With Murder

The widow and father-in-law of slain Limerick man Jason Corbett are to face trial charged for his murder.

Molly Martens, and her 65-year-old father Thomas Martens – a former FBI agent, have been charged with second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter.

Davidson County Assistant District Attorney Greg Brown confirmed the news late last night, following the fatal attack on August 2nd.

Jason Corbett was found at his home in North Carolina on August 2nd after he sustained fatal head injuries. It is believed he was beaten to death with a baseball bat.

Following his death, Corbett’s widow and father-in-law were questioned several times but had not been named as suspects.

Ms Martens and her father Thomas Martens, have not been placed in custody but will instead appear in court by appointment to be officially indicted for trial.

Jason Corbett left behind two children from his first marriage to Mags, Jack and Sarah. His death resulted in a custody battle between Molly Martens, and Jason Corbett’s sister Tracey Lynch and her husband David.

The Lynch family were finally awarded custody of the two children.
