Chances are you’re reading this with a leftover turkey sandwich in one hand, and your mam dozing in the corner after a stressful few days in the kitchen.
The dedication of an Irish mammy to give you the ultimate Christmas can’t be mistaken, so when Mike McLoughlin’s mum insisted they remember to put the leftover turkey in the fridge last night, they decided to have some fun.
While the family stayed up to have a few more drinks and make the last couple of sandwiches, they were given one instruction – to put the meat back in the fridge.
How could you have St. Stephen’s Day without your leftovers?
So we can only imagine her face (and the cursing under her breath), when she made her way downstairs to see a tin-foiled plate resting on the counter.
As Mike explained:
“She went to great pains to make sure we remembered to put the turkey in the fridge, so we decided to have a little fun. This morning, this was sitting on the kitchen counter when she came down. Brief panic and lots of cursing.”
We’re just surprised she didn’t take the wooden spoon to them!
