'Without people, you're nothing.'

Today is the thirteenth anniversary of the death of punk legend and lead singer of The Clash, Joe Strummer, and people are taking to social media to voice their sadness at the loss of such a massive talent.

The 50-year-old passed away from a heart attack at his Somerset home on December 23rd 2002.

Strummer was an icon in the UK punk scene as lead singer of The Clash, whose music was a huge part of the fabric of the scene in the late Seventies and early Eighties.

The Clash were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the year after Strummer’s death, and his legacy lives on.
