What’s On: Your Guide to the Cinema This Week

I Give It a Year (16)

Dan Mazer’s new comedy looks at the trials and tribulations of one couple’s first year of marriage. With Rose Byrne and Anna Faris.

Wreck-It Ralph (G)

This animated flick is about a video game villain who wants to be a hero. Starring John C Reilly and Jane Lynch.

Hitchcock (12A)

This film takes a look at the relationship between director Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife Alma Reville (Helen Mirren) during the making of Psycho


Warm Bodies (12A)

Nicholas Hoult plays a zombie called R who ends up developing a relationship with the girl he saves but what he doesn’t know is that it could have a serious effect on the undead world.

 

Flight (12A)

An airline pilot (Denzel Washington) prevents the plane he is flying from crashing but his personal demons soon catch up with him when an investigation is launched.

 

Lincoln (12A)

Steven Spielberg brings us the story of US President Abraham Lincoln. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field.

Zero Dark Thirty (15A)

This flick, from Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow, chronicles the decade-long hunt for Osama bin Laden.

The Last Stand (15A)

The leader of a drug cartel escapes from a courthouse and heads for the Mexican border but Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) stands in his way.

 

Django Unchained (18)

Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio star in Quentin Tarantino’s western about a freed slave who wants to rescue his wife from a plantation owner.

 

Gangster Squad (15A)

A group of police officers take matters into their own hands in order to chase mafia-types out of Los Angeles. Starring Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin.

 

Les Misérables (12A)

Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried star in this musical epic about a man who takes pity on a poor factory worker and decides to look after her daughter.

 

The Impossible (12A)

This intense film tells the story of a family on holiday in Thailand when the 2004 tsunami strikes. Starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor.
