That’s Fang-tastic: Irish Stars Set For NBC’s Dracula

Not one but two of Ireland's most famous faces are to star in the US network's new drama!

Irish actress Victoria Smurfit has been cast to appear alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers in NBC’s new ten-episode drama Dracula.

The show, which is based on Bram Stoker’s haunting story, is set in London in the 1890s.

Victoria Smurfit will appear alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the series.

It will see Rhys Meyers step into the title role as Dracula who poses as an American businessman, called Alan Grayson, to seek revenge on those who have crossed him.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Smurfit will play Lady Jayne who has a soft spot for Grayson but he only has eyes for Mina Murrau (Jessica De Gouw).

The Tudors star will be playing one of the most famous characters ever.

Also among the cast are Katie McGrath who is most famous for her role in Merlin and Game of Thrones star Nonso Anozie.

Dracula is scheduled to air later this year and, unlike the leading character, we have a feeling it’s not going to suck (sorry, we just couldn’t resist that one)!
