Bucket lists: they’re something we all have. You know that long list of things that you’d absolutely love to try but never get around to because you don’t have the money or the energy?
Why not make 2013 the year that you finally get to cross something off that list? Trying something new can add a breath of fresh air to your life. It can help you to figure out the things you like, the things you don’t like and it can shake things up and add some excitement to your life.
This week we’re looking at learning how to salsa!

Salsa is not only immense fun, it’s also great for your health
What?
If you’ve always had two left feet or if you’re looking for a new, fun way to get fit why not make 2013 the year you learn how to Salsa?
Salsa dancing has its roots in various countries and cultures, think Cuban, Latin, African and Carribean. There are a few basic steps to follow but the best part about Salsa is that it’s a creative and unique form of self-expression – the way that you move your hips and body is completely up to you. So if you love giving your hips an auld shake, this is the class for you.
As well as being immense fun, Salsa also has some serious health benefits. It works your leg muscles, it engages the whole body, it’s aerobic, it burns calories and it is a great way of relieving stress.
Where?
There are lots of different salsa classes dotted around Ireland and it’s very easy to find one in your local area. If you’re in Dublin, why not check out Danzón? Established in 2003, it’s a group of salsa and zumba dance teachers who offer classes in the capital.
When?
Danzón runs salsa classes on Tuesday and Thursday. They range in times with the first class starting at 7.30pm and the last class starting at 9.30pm.
How much?
All classes are drop-in, so this means you can start whenever you like and pay as you go. One class will set you back €10, but you can also snap up six classes for €50.
How do I cross this off my list?
