Dara O’Briain is known for being hilarious but we doubt his jokes are going to go down well with the crocodiles and hippos he’ll encounter on the Zambezi River!
That’s right, the comedian along with a host of other stars is headed for the African river to raise money for Comic Relief.
Dara and co are taking part in a five-day excursion which will see them paddling for hours on end, encountering wild animals and camping on cliff tops.
Dara is just one of the celebrities taking part in the trip for charity.
Speaking about it, Dara told reporters: “When I was first asked to do this challenge, I did a quick Google search of Zambezi rafting but after the 10th page of people being instantly flung into the water I turned off the computer.
“But lives can be changed if people put their hands in their pockets in exchange for our misery so that sounds like a fair deal.”
The 68-mile journey, entitled the BT Red Nose Challenge: Hell and High Water, is also being undertaken by actress Chelsee Healey, funny man Jack Dee and former Spice Girl Mel C as well as a number of other famous faces.
Singer Mel C has done a number of things for Comic Relief in the past.
The money raised by the trip, which is taking place ahead of Red Nose Day in March, will go towards the education of children in Zambia.
And while we commend Dara and all the celebrities for their bravery and dedication to what is a great cause, we will say rather them than us!
