If you’ve been looking longingly at UK weather reports all weekend, wishing for similar snowy conditions, you’ll be happy to hear that heavy snow is on its way!
Met Eireann have issued a weather warning and have revealed that temperatures will drop as low as -6C overnight, tomorrow and Wednesday while daytime temperatures will continue to stay as low as 1C-4C over the coming week.
Snow showers are expected to hit eastern counties, parts of Ulster and inland areas of Munster with between 3cm and 6cm falling overnight.

Meteorologist Jean Byrne advised that although Ireland will escape the widespread snow that has caused havoc in the UK, temperatures will plummet throughout the week and advised motorists to take extra car.
