With awards season in full swing, the cinema really is the place to be this month. All you have to do is decide what you're going to see...

From a western that will keep you captivated to a tearjerker that will leave you emotionally-drained, it’s another great weekend for the big screen.

Django Unchained (18)

Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio star in Quentin Tarantino’s western about a freed slave who wants to rescue his wife from a plantation owner.


The Sessions (18)

A man, paralysed from the neck down, decides to hire a sex surrogate so that he can lose his virginity. Starring John Hawkes and Helen Hunt.

Gangster Squad (15A)

A group of police officers take matters into their own hands in order to chase mafia-types out of Los Angeles. Starring Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin.


Les Misérables (12A)

Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried star in this musical epic about a man who takes pity on a poor factory worker and decides to look after her daughter.


Parental Guidance (G)

Artie and Diane (played by Billy Crystal and Bette Midler) agree to look after their grandkids but are soon left regretting it.


The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (18)

The chainsaw-wielding killer is back to torment a group of friends in the seventh film of the horror franchise.


The Impossible (12A)

This intense film tells the story of a family on holiday in Thailand when the 2004 tsunami strikes. Starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor.


Quartet (12A)

At a home for retired opera singers the annual performance for Verdi’s birthday is disrupted by the arrival of Jean who is a diva. Dame Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly and Michael Gambon are among the cast.


Jack Reacher (15A)

A homicide investigator decides to look deeper into a case involving a trained sniper who shot five random victims. Starring the King of Action Tom Cruise.

Life of Pi (PG)

A young man survives a disaster while at sea and is soon catapulted into a world of adventure. Along the way he develops a strong bond with a tiger.


Pitch Perfect (12A)

In this musical comedy, the new girl at school is persuaded to join The Bellas who are an all-girl singing group. Turns out she is just the thing they need. Starring Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (12A)

This Lord of the Rings prequel goes back 60 years to when Gandalf asks Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) to help a group of dwarves reclaim their home from a dragon. Along the way they encounter quite a few interesting characters including one that keeps mentioning his precious.
