Meet Jelena Abbou, bodybuilder and star of the latest MAC Cosmetics campaign.
Following in the footsteps of previous ‘alternative’ MAC spokespeople Beth Ditto, Dame Edna and Elton John, Abbou features in the new imagery for the ‘Strength’ collection.
Thirty-five-year-old Serbian Abbou appears in the ads flexing her considerable muscles, hard won through years of dedicated training. Sporting strong make-up and a latex dress, she looks, to borrow Tyra’s favourite word, pretty fierce.
Though her obvious strength is the focus for the campaign, Jelena has posted many other pictures of her enviable figure on her Facebook page.
