Eh… Santa? Is that you? In what is possibly the strangest news story we’ve come across today, German firefighters had to rescue a naked man who somehow managed to get himself stuck in a chimney. Yep, we’re being completely serious about this.
Digital Spy reports that team of firemen in Berlin were called to the scene of the unusual emergency after police struggled to help the man. Apparently the poor guy was stuck approximately 10 metres down the chimney.
Now, the weird thing is that no one knows why the man was in the chimney in the first place or, more importantly, what actually happened to his clothes. We guess we’ll never know at this stage.
Anyway, according to reports, a team of rescuers made a hole in the second floor of the building and eventually managed to get the 39-year-old man out. It took them almost two hours and 30 firemen and 10 police officers were called to the scene to help.
Was it Santa?
The man is believed to have lost consciousness before he was rescued and he was taken to the nearest hospital after he needed a resusciation.
“He suffered from injuries in the fall due to his scant clothing,” said a spokesman for the fire brigade.
“The first question was – is the man sporting a red cape and a bushy white beard?”
Hmm… maybe this is what Santa gets up to on his off time? Either way we hope the mysterious man gets well soon (and finds his clothes while he’s at it).
