Do you know someone who drinks black coffee? Well, if a new study is to be believed, it might be time to find a new friend.
That’s because the study has found that there is a link between people who have bitter tastes – such as black coffee and tonic water – and malevolent characteristics including “Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism and everyday sadism.”

In other words, those who were found to like bitter foods and drinks were more likely to exhibit psychotic characteristics and be more anti-social.
The study, conducted by a professor at Innsbruck University in Austria and published in the journal Appetite, examined the taste preferences of approximately 1,000 people and their responses to a range of personality questions.
While we wouldn’t attach any huge significant to the findings (considering that people’s tastes do change and we want to keep our friends), we do like that it reminded us of this All Saints tune…
