In recent weeks, there had been speculation that the next Irish General Election would take place in November but Enda Kenny dismissed these rumours today.

In conversation with The Week In Politics, he said that he has always intended to hold the next general election early in 2016 and “nothing has changed that”.

He also made reference to his desire to see Fine Gael and Labour establish a “joint platform”.

Only time will tell with this one.
