If you’re addicted to all things Apple, the latest technology news is about to leave you pretty excited.
It seems Apple are expanding their wearable technology, with the company filing patents for a ‘ring computing device’ in April 2014.
The plans, along with some rough sketches, were published by the US Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday.
As well as controlling your technology through a series of voice commands, the finger-ring touchscreen also has a sensor for writing or character recognition.
It’s thought the handy tech jewellery will be able to control a remote electronic device, activate connected lighting or heating systems at home or within a car, or act as a replacement for a computer mouse.
According to The Telegraph:
‘A ring-mounted touchscreen could help prevent the user’s hands and arms from “becoming fatigued” in the way they would if they were to hold a traditionally larger touchpad and touchscreen display for extended periods of time.’
The ring would also have the ability to link up with another device through gesture control – meaning your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Watch will all be in sync.
Just one more item to add to your collection.
