First Peek of the Images of Dublin’s Brand New Public Park

We're thinking of the lunch time picnics!

Cassie Delaney

Images have surfaced this morning of the plans for Dublin’s brand new Weaver Park.

The park, set to cost in the region of €750,000 is planned for the Liberties early next year.

It will be the first park in the area in over 100 years. Plans are available for public consultation over the next six weeks.

The centre of the park will be divided between a large lawn for games and a smaller raised lawn for sitting and chilling (we’re thinking lunch picnics).

The park will also cater to the many teens in the area by providing a skate park and a basket swing.

An enclosed play area will incorporate a range of play equipment suitable for children up to 10 years old, including some for children with disabilities.

The east side of the lawn will be mounded, with “ micro woodlands” .

The park will also be a suitable events venue with amphitheatre seating included in the plans. The space can also be used for large events such as markets, parties and exhibitions.
