Channel 5’s Big Brother took the crown for 2012 based on official complaints received by regulatory body Ofcom.
Deana Uppal was at the heart of this year’s Big Brother bullying scandal.
This year’s series had over 2000 complaints, the majority of which reportedly referred to Conor McIntyre’s treatment of fellow housemate Deana Uppal.
The X Factor Results Show came in a close second but anybody could have guessed this considering the amount of criticism the show has received with regards to fixed votes and poor ratings over the last few months.
The X Factor judges created a stir with regards to voting on the talent show.
Other shows that featured in the top ten included ITV’s This Morning, Channel 4’s True Stories: Gypsy Blood and BBC One’s Citizen Khan.
Perhaps it’s a sign that reality television needs to hang up its hat. Then again, show bosses are probably loving the fact that it all adds to the drama!
