Wednesday was a big day for national commercial broadcasters TV3.
Fresh from last weekend’s launch of Saturday AM and Sunday AM, head honchos at the Irish channel unveiled their plans for the forthcoming season at the Aviva Staudium.
One notable inclusion in the lineup of new shows is a game show fronted by Brian Ormond. The presenter, who previously worked on RTÉ’s National Lottery’s Big Money Game, will be at the helm of “new international format” Wishlist, which sees couples playing to win the prizes of their dreams visualised in studio on a large LED floor.
According to TV3, the show will air in the New Year and “promises to be compelling viewing”.
Ormond teased the news yesterday ahead of an appearance on The Seven O’Clock Show, while wife Pippa O’Connor was keeping it in the family with an appearance on the station’s breakfast show Ireland AM this morning.
Looking forward to being a guest on the @SevenOClockShow this Wednesday. Some very exciting news ? @KennedyLucy @martinkingtv3

Pamela Flood will also present a brand new TV3 series, called Geriatric Mums.
Amongst the highlights on the way for Autumn 2015/2016 is of course their coverage of the Rugby World Cup, with Peter Stringer, Keith Wood, former Leinster and Ireland flanker Shane Jennings and the newly unveiled Malcolm O’Kelly all on hand to provide expert analysis.
Red Rock returns tonight, Wednesday September 2nd, following a short break. The soap has won rave reviews for the channel, while rights to UK shows like X Factor, Celebrity Big Brother, Downton Abbey, Britain’s Got Talent and Broadchurch are still bringing in large numbers of viewers.
Channel 4’s The Undateables will also debut on TV3 this autumn.
