We all know that it can be hard to fit in some sexy time with your man. Let’s be honest – life has a habit of getting in the way. And now according to some new research, our sex lives have become more dependent on how much time we have, rather than our level of desire.
The survey, which was conducted by sex toy website Lovehoney, revealed that a third of people jump into bed with their partners not because they’re in the mood, but because they have a window of free time.
Proving that time really is of the essence when it comes to sex, 23 per cent of the people surveyed admitted that their partner’s availability was the main factor in determining when they had sex.
The survey revealed that couples are 13 times more likely to have sex at night than in the afternoon, with 65 per cent of the couples polled by the website admitting that they liked getting down and dirty between the hours of 11pm and 1am. Only 20 per cent of people chose morning as their favourite time for a romp with a loved one.

Surprisingly only 28 per cent of couples said that they had sex when they felt like it with the remaining 72 per cent stating that convenient timing usually won out over the levels of sexual desire.
“This suggests two things: firstly, that our lives are incredibly busy and stressful. Secondly, that we don’t make sex a priority. It tends to get put last on the list of things to do, and consequently, is the first thing to be knocked off it, especially if we’re tired,” said sexpert Tracey Cox.
“You need energy and time to have good sex. Doing it late at night, in bed, at the end of a tiring day isn’t ideal for a session that’s high on sexual satisfaction,” she added.
So when should we be doing it? Well, ideally, at lunchtime say relationship experts because apparently that’s when our sexy hormone levels peak.
Aside from that, they recommend setting aside some private time dedicated solely to your other half a few times a week in order to keep your relationship in tip-top condition.
