If you’re debating whether or not to pop along to your local optometrist, this test could answer a lot of your questions.
Apparently just staring at this photo can be enough of an indicator as to whether you need glasses or not…
Students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology created an optical illusion of Albert Einstein… or Marilyn Monroe for the vision challenged spectators.
Standing just a foot away from the photo, if your vision is poor, your eyes start to blur the lines and shapes of the face:
According to ASAP Science, the illusion works by determining your eyes ability to focus from afar:
“Depending on how well you’re able to focus or pick up contrast, your eye will only pick out details. Up close, we’re generally able to pick up fine details like Einstein’s moustache and wrinkles. But as the distance increases, or if your vision is poor and creates a more blurred image in the first place, your ability to pick up details fades away.”
So now you know whether you need to book that eye test or not…
