It doesn’t matter how you dress them up… periods and incontinence aren’t pretty but this hasn’t deterred one US based lingerie retailer from trying to make slips, spills and the dreaded time of the month just a little bit more bearable.
Dear Kate is a knicker line that is launching in the US in January. So far, so standard, but what makes the Dear Kate line stand out from your usual thongs and briefs is a patent-pending liner made from a thin wicking material that can hold up to three teaspoons of liquid. Totally gross or totally genius?
So, what inspired a 25-year-old chemical engineering grad to start up a knicker line especially for those who can’t hold it all in?
Previously known as Sexy Period, the company making the Dear Kate decided to move towards a more ambiguous name when it was revealed that the knickers had a cult following among the one-in-four women who are mildly incontinent but who still wanted to wear pretty underwear.

Knickers hard at work!
To look at the line, you’d never guess that they were designed with period spills and other leakages in mind and the designs are actually really on-trend and design led.
The Dear Kate line isn’t available to buy in Ireland but if you are one of the one-in-four, you can pre-order a pair online at dearkates.com
People will never know the difference…
