There Are Many Reasons You May Need to Call 999 Some Day – This Is NOT One of Them

One Northen Irish man called his local police station to make a report, and ended up drawing an officers visit upon himself... you'll see why.

A lack of food can make most of us cranky.

Long wait in a restaurant, an age spent waiting for a food delivery, or a day where you have no choice but to work through lunch – it’s understandable that any of these things might annoy you. As for your favourite takeaway not picking up the phone? Well, most of us might consider it a minor niggle, then hang up and try choice number two.

Not this man. PSNI officers in Newtownards took to their Facebook page this week (how we wish every Irish Garda Station had the same) to share with page fans news of an unusual complaint.

The post stated:

“Man on the 999 number this evening complaining that his local chinese weren’t answering their phone. When he was reminded that 999 was strictly for emergencies he stated it was an emergency as he wanted to order a meal. I have arranged for the local neighbourhood officer to call with this man and give him some advice. SM Insp.”

We can only imagine the unnamed man’s disappointment when the doorbell rings, and it’s not a Chicken Chow Mein delivery.
