It’s heart-breaking but one of the three finalists was always going to go home after the first half of this year’s X Factor final.
Tonight Dermot O’Leary, or should we say the public, ended Christopher Maloney’s dream after he received the least votes and will now miss out on tomorrow night’s exciting climax.
Christopher overcame his nerves to make it to the final.
Christopher impressed the judges during his first audition with his rendition of Bette Midler’s The Rose and despite not being put through to the live finals first time around, won the wild card vote.
But tonight he came up short as not even his duet with mentor Gary Barlow, Take That’s Rule the World, was enough to see him through.
He hasn’t been the judges’ favourite but the public have kept him in.
Now, it’s all up to James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas who will battle it out tomorrow evening in the hope of becoming the next X Factor winner.
Who do you think will be victorious?
