Tonight’s telly is fit for royalty… literally!

The Royal Variety Performance – UTV (7.30pm)

From Rod Stewart to Katherine Jenkins to Girls Aloud, anyone who is anyone will be performing at this royal event hosted by Britain’s Got Talent and Little Britain star David Walliams.

America’s Next Top Model – Sky Living (9.00pm)

The girls will be taking to the catwalk wearing outfits from aspiring designers and also posing with Hello Kitty products for a couture photo shoot. As always, someone has to leave.

Bad Santa – TV3 (9.00pm)

Billy Bob Thornton stars in this festive flick about a guy that takes a job as a Father Christmas so that he can rob the premises but his plans are soon scuppered by the people he meets.

Republic of Telly – RTÉ Two (10.00pm)

This week Dermot Whelan, Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O’Shea bring us their opinions on the latest shows, a few confused stars and the news.

The Baby Makers – BBC One (10.35pm)

Tonight 24-year-old Mel is donating her eggs while Eilish’s IVF treatment has resulted in the birth of twins.
