Two people have reportedly been killed in a shooting at a cinema in Louisiana.
Police have confirmed that a 58-year-old gunman killed two people and injured seven before turning the gun on himself.
According to Sky News, he opened fire during a film screening at approximately 7pm local time.
The incident is said to have taken place at the Grand Theater in Lafayette. Police stated that there were about 100 people inside the cinema at the time.
Speaking at the scene, Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal, stated: “This is an awful night for Lafayette.
“This is an awful night for Louisiana. This is an awful night for the United States.”
