Heading out with your latest crush? Feel free to order that dessert round.
A new survey by Match.com has revealed that one of the biggest turn-offs on a first date is a picky eater.
Asking more than 5,000 singles about their dating habits and pet peeves, the survey found 95 per cent of people said a fussy eater topped the most annoying trait of a dinner date.

So does fussing over a menu change your date’s perception?
Well according to respondents, picky eaters or those who are overtly conscious of their food choices can make you feel more restricted about your own order, as well as limiting the restaurants and dating venues up for choice.
Daters also said that although they can appreciate the need to eat healthily, singletons found that constantly counting calories is draining on the dating experience.

Other peeves that were seen to kill the sparks of early romance were those who took a smoking break during a dinner date (flagged by 57 per cent), followed closely by people using their phone at the table.
Our advice?
Maybe leave the phone in your bag. And order the cheesecake. Nothing bad ever came from eating cheesecake.
