Omar Sharif has passed away at the age of 83.
His agent Steve Kenis confirmed the news today, explaining: “He suffered a heart attack this afternoon in a hospital in Cairo.”
Earlier this year Kenis confirmed that the Golden Globe-winner had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
The Egyptian-born actor was best known for his roles in Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago.
