For women who have ever felt awkward at the idea of swiping right for a match or making the first move on a dating website, this new trend could be the answer to your online prayers.
The latest dating website chivalrynotdead.com has decided to strip back the rules of dating, taking tips from an older generation.
The site is specifically designed letting only men make the first move… with women being permitted to send a ‘handkerchief’ icon to ‘show their favour’ if they fancy a profile picture.

The site, created by recent graduate Beth Murtagh, told i100 she was inspired to offer an inexpensive alternative to people looking for old-fashioned love:
“Either the sites were so overpriced that there weren’t many members near me, or they were more ‘hook-up’ sites which I wasn’t really interested in. I thought there was a gap in the market for a site which was focused on romance and long-term commitment, as the sites which did do this were all affixed to religion.”

Still trying to work out the old-school rules of dating?
The site even hosts a section of dating advice – which some people may find sexist:
“Let the man plan the date. This is important! He should feel as though he is getting the chance to woo you” and “Don’t talk too much about previous relationships or personal problems”.
While we’re not sure we’d be the first to sign up to the site, we’re sure there’s a market for finding the Noah to your Allie.
