It’s the debate that most households have to choose for themselves, but just how often should you be washing your bath towels?

Whether you’re a one wash turnover type of lady, or keep a towel for two or three turns, apparently you probably don’t need to be changing your bath towels as often as you might think.

According to experts in consumer and environmental health agencies, you only need to change your bath towels after every three or four washes.

There are some conditions though to make sure your towel doesn’t breed bacteria or mould.

Experts suggest keeping your towels spread out on a rack between washes (not bunched up), so they can dry throughout.

Also turn on any bathroom fans or open windows before and during your shower to keep the air from becoming too moist and encouraging damp or mould in the fibres.
