It’s a well-known fact that we’d be lost without our phones. So when the battery is running low it can be pretty annoying.
While you might use one app to check the weather, or Hailo to grab a taxi, it’s fair to say there’s a lot of technology at play when using your iPhone.
So what’s the best way to save some charge on your handset?
If you’re used to double tapping the home button to kill the open apps, you could actually be draining more of your battery life.
According to experts, the act of resurfacing the apps to the homepage can actually take more power and eat into your battery life.
Experts advise to instead go to settings, general and tap on background app refresh.
You will then be shown a list of apps which are constantly running in the background and draining your battery life.
You can then either switch off individual apps, or all the options, to preserve charge on your phone.

A handy little tip just in time for festival season!
