EastEnders star Lindsey Coulson has revealed that she is leaving EastEnders.
The news comes 22 years after she first appeared on screen as Carol Jackson. (She joined in 1993 before leaving four years later. She returned briefly in 1999 before making a full-time comeback in 2010.)

Lindsey told the Daily Star on Sunday: “I’ve had a fantastic time playing the formidable Carol Jackson and although I miss everything about EastEnders, I feel the time is right to move on.”
The actress has had some major storylines during her time on the show including a breast cancer diagnosis.

Speaking about the news, executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “The door will always be open for Lindsey to return to EastEnders.
“EastEnders has always been so lucky to have an actress of Lindsey’s calibre to return to EastEnders.”
Earlier this month, Danielle Howard (who plays Lola Pearce) revealed that she was waving goodbye to Albert Square.
