Is Love Really Blind? Two Complete Strangers Got Married In Athlone Earlier Today

Radio listeners have been following their story for several weeks.

The Irish are known for our epic wedding celebrations but today’s ceremony at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone was a little different to most.

To the casual onlooker, Ann-Marie and Nigel may look like any other young couple tying the knot but their road to the altar hasn’t been quite so straightforward.

In fact, the couple are better known to iRadio listeners as Juno and Jupiter… and they only met this morning.

The two were paired up as part of a radio promotion called Three Strangers And A Wedding, which allowed listeners to vote for their favourite bride to walk up the aisle in an all-expenses paid wedding and honeymoon.

The bride then chose two grooms, Janus and Jupiter , whom she got to know live on radio, before making a decision about which one she would marry on the big day itself.

Ann-Marie chose Jupiter aka Nigel and the couple looked amazing as they married in Athlone this afternoon.

Is love blind? We’ll soon find out!
