Already the Christmas movies are starting to appear, not that we’re complaining! In this animated one, a boy doubts whether Santa is real when a steam engine arrives to take him and other children to meet the man himself.

Strictly Come Dancing – BBC One (6.30pm)
Unfortunately Bruce Forsyth will not be co-hosting the show this evening with Tess Daly but asides from that, it will be business as usual for the contestants and their dance partners. With the competition heating up, anything could happen.

Take Me Out –ITV (6.50pm)
Tonight a saxophonist, an electrician, a beatboxer and a bike engineer will be going all out to impress one of the ladies and bag themselves a date to Fernandos. As usual, Paddy McGuinness will also be seeing how the couples from last week got on.

The Jonathan Ross Show – ITV (9.50pm)
For the last show of the series Jonathan Ross will be joined by Homeland star Damian Lewis and the man who found fame when his catchy tune Gangnam Style went viral.

There’s Something About Mary – Channel 4 (9.35pm)
Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz star in this romantic comedy about a man who hires a private detective to track down his high school sweetheart. But he doesn’t predict that the man he hires will end up joining the long queue of men who are in love with her.
