Walking In The Air Is Going Indie This Christmas?!

Apparently some of the biggest indie bands in the world of music are teaming up to revamp the classic song from The Snowman.

It is the song that everybody associates with Christmas but it has been revealed that Aled Jones’ Walking In The Air from The Snowman is getting a revamp!

And it’s not just any revamp. The song is getting an indie makeover as bands including Kasabian and The Editors are being lined up to give the classic tune more of an edge.

Kasabian are one of the bands in the frame to work on the cover.

According to the Daily Mirror, those involved will form a choir and record a rockier rendition of the track in time for Christmas.

A source told the newspaper: “The Snowman animated film, from which the song comes, is getting a modern twist and there are a lot of beardy blokes, who remember the film from their childhood, who are really keen to get involved.”

They added: “Nobody wanted to do a straight cover of such a classic song, so it had to be a bit different. This was the only way The Snowman could possibly get any cooler.”

In case you’re not familiar with it, which is pretty much impossible, the 1982 film sees a snowman come to life and take the boy who built him on a flying adventure.

C4 announced earlier this year that they were going to be screening an updated version, with a new Snowdog, of the festive favourite this year.

But while we’re all for Snowdogs and putting a modern twist on something old, there are just some things you shouldn’t touch…
