Gary Loses Another Act as X Factor Loses to Strictly in Battle For Viewers

Last night wasn't a good night for Gary Barlow, as yet another of his acts was sent home, but this weekend was catastrophic for X Factor as Strictly Come Dancing won the ratings war by a mile!

Gary Barlow has only one act left in the X Factor as Kye Sones was eliminated from the competition last night.

The chimney sweep was up against Rylan Clark in last night’s sing-off and despite doing an incredible rendition of Jason Mraz’s I won’t Give Up, ended up going home.

Kye Sones left the competition but said that he will release an album.

Rylan, who sang Kissing You by Des’ree, was backed by his mentor Nicole Sherzinger and looked set to leave the show after both Gary and Louis Walsh opted to save Kye.

But Tulisa Contostavlos threw a spanner in the works when she said: “When it comes down to it’s not just a singing competition, this is the X Factor,” before saving Rylan.

Wonder if that had anything to do with Gary’s breath insult last week?! Tulisa’s move sent the decision to deadlock, as has been the case on numerous occasions this year, and it was revealed that Kye had received the fewest votes.

Dermot O’Leary revealed that Rylan Clark had more votes.

Unfortunately, this is the least of the programme’s worries as it has been reported that ratings continue to plummet.

On Saturday night the average figure was just over 7.5 million, a million less than last weekend and three million less than this time last year.

To add insult to Simon Cowell’s injury Strictly Come Dancing took full advantage of the singing show’s waning popularity, bringing in an average of 10 million viewers.

Yesterday evening James Bond actor Colin Salmon and his dance partner Kristina Rihanoff left the competition, after losing out in the dance-off to Richard Arnold and Erin Boag.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing said goodbye to Colin and Kristina.
