Kian Will Not Go Solo Because of “Huge Pressure”

He was in one of the most successful boy bands ever so it comes as no surprise that Kian Egan is daunted by the pressure that would come if he decided to release a record on his own.

It will break a few hearts but Kian Egan has revealed that he won’t be doing a Ronan Keating and releasing any solo material.

The former Westlife star said that it would be too much pressure to follow the success of the band, which split earlier this year, when asked about it at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards.

According to reports, he said: “I think the idea of going solo is a huge amount of pressure to get it all right and coming out of a band that’s been successful, I think it’s going to be a huge pressure for any of us to try and release solo music and make it as big and successful.”

Well 14 number ones is quite a standard to live up to! Kian is now concentrating on his television career which, so far, has included stints on The Xtra Factor and The Voice of Ireland.

“I kind of feel like the TV is a natural fit. So for me this is a lot less stressful, it’s a good challenge, it’s new, it’s different and it’s really enjoyable,” the 32-year-old explained.

But it’s not all work as Kian is also enjoying some much-needed family time with his wife Jodi Albert and his son Koa: “I’m kind of keeping busy, not too busy, it’s nice to have a bit of down time and spend a bit of time at home with Jodie and the baby.”
