Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon has revealed that she is “devastated” to be leaving the cobbles.
The actress, who plays Andrea Beckett in the popular soap, is set to leave during the live episode this September (it marks 60 years of ITV).

She told Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards on Saturday: “(I’m) devastated. I don’t want to leave.
“It’s a really sad thing for me because I love the show so much but the story is going to be brilliant.”
Hayley also revealed that she will be leaving at the same time as Craig Charles, who plays her onscreen love interest Lloyd Mullaney.

While she doesn’t know the exact details of her exit storyline, the door will apparently be left open for a possible return, something Hayley is very happy about.
“I don’t want to leave now so if they want me back, gladly I’ll come back,” she admitted.
The 38-year-old added: “It is the best job I’ve done and the best people work there. I am going to miss them terribly.”
