As a nation of fair skinned ladies, we can’t stress enough the importance of wearing proper sun protection under those rays.
Despite the constant health warnings, women are continuing to develop skin cancer after consistent use of sunbeds.
So one young woman from Alabama has decided to post a pretty graphic but powerful image on her Facebook page to make women aware of the dangers from tanning on a sunbed.
Nurse Tawny Willoughby from Alabama shared a snapshot of her face exposed with scars and scabs.
The 27-year old, who has been diagnosed with skin cancer five times since she was 21-years old, has blamed an excessive use of sun-beds in her teens.
In the emotive Facebook post, Tawny wrote:
This is what skin cancer treatment can look like. Wear sunscreen and get a spray tan. You only get one skin and you should take care of it. Learn from other people’s mistakes.
She explains on her Facebook post that she used sunbeds four or five times a week back in high school “because my tan faded very fast” but even then would cover up from the sun afterwards.
The image has now been shared more than 55,000 times.
So ladies, please stock up on suncream, and top up your tan from a bottle.
