Turns out we won’t have to wait that long for Adele’s next album… that is if the latest reports are to be believed.

It was revealed last week that the award-winning singer would be taking a break from writing and recording but now it has been announced that she is currently working on new material.

And not just that but it’s apparently happy material! Despite being known for writing about heartache, Adele is said to be working on more positive songs inspired by her new role as a mother.

Adele’s last album 21 was inspired by a failed relationship.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Rolling in the Deep songstress told friends: “I really want to release a happy record now. I have never been happier. I have written stuff and I will release it when I’m ready.”

That could be sooner than previously thought as the 24-year-old is said to be eager to get back into the studio and get a record out.

The Skyfall singer is said to be working on new material.

An insider told the newspaper: “Adele has been working for the last few months. Her music is based around how happy she is with Simon and changes that come from being a mother.”

They added: “Talk about her disappearing for years is nonsense… it is her intention to have some mixes finished for an album as early as next autumn.”

Anyone else super excited by this news?!
