Mourners have lit over 1,000 in Glasgow this weekend during a silent vigil in memory of Cork student, Karen Buckley.
Neighbours of the 24-year-old Irish student gathered together to remember Ms. Buckley at a vigil in the Garnethill area of the city.
The candles were arranged to make a Celtic symbol in memory of Karen.
“It’s a wee close-knit community up here, although it’s quite a transient population with the students,” explained chairwoman of the community council, Jane Sutherland.

Mourners light candles at the vigil.
“Words fail me – that’s why we wanted to do a silent candlelit vigil – 1,000 points of light for the one point of light that went out.
“Our profound condolences are with her mum and dad, her brothers and extended family.”
A number of vigils have been held throughout Glasgow and Ms. Buckley’s native Co. Cork over the last number of days.
