Despite being on Strictly Come Dancing and presenting Football’s Next Star, Nicky Byrne says that nothing will ever compare to his days in Westlife.
Speaking about the moment that he and the boys decided to call it a day, he said: “Making that decision to split up after so long together, after 14 years together, that was a huge part of all our lives.
“It was what we all knew for so long, and it was always going to be tough adapting to life after Westlife. It’s been a complete change.”

Nicky also told the Sunday Mirror that he was concerned about what he would do after the boy band: “There was a time when I was worried about whether anything was going to come next, because you really don’t know. You didn’t have to worry about that in Westlife.”
But the 34-year-old has had plenty of work, most recently as a contestant on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. But despite having played in front of thousands of screaming fans for over a decade, Nicky says that the show is daunting.

“It’s a very different feeling for me because you really are alone on Strictly. It is just you with no one else for support,” he explained.
But as much as he is enjoying the show, the former pop star said that nothing will ever beat his time in the band: “But of course, nothing is ever going to be as big as Westlife for me – that will always be the biggest moment for us.”
Well Nicky, you and the other boys could always make a comeback? We’re sure there’s plenty of ladies out there who would love to see that!
