A number of flights from both Dublin and Shannon airports have been cancelled today as a result of a planned strike by air traffic controllers in France.

Passengers are being advised to check the status of their flight before making their way to the airport as Irish airlines have been forced to cancel a number of flights.

According to RTÉ, Ryanair has cancelled 26 flights in and out of Dublin airport, while Aer Lingus’ flights EI 522 Dublin to Paris and EI 523 Paris to Dublin have been cancelled.

It is expected that other Aer Lingus flights between Ireland and France should operate as normal.

Air France flights have also been affected.
