It’s safe to say the world went into shock yesterday when Zayn Malik announced his intention to quit the world’s biggest boyband.
After it was confirmed by a statement by the band’s PR representatives, fans mourned the news that their favourite five piece were no more.
For those of us, the split was another reminder of the heartache you can feel when you pledge your love to a pop group.
For some of us, it brought back some of the heartache we felt when Geri decided Viva Forever was just a song and she was leaving the band.
In the wake of yesterday’s news, Geri tweeted a heartfelt message without a direct recipient, but given the day that’s in it, most people assumed it was directed at the young singer:

If anything it’s proof that you can be happy and successful after quitting the world’s biggest band.
Just maybe run a mile if anyone suggests you cover a track ‘Bag It Up’…
