A new poll has revealed the greatest soap storyline of all time.
The “you ain’t my mother… yes I am” storyline involving Kat and Zoe Slater in EastEnders has been voted the best moment by soap fans.
The controversial storyline, which saw Kat revealed as Zoe’s mother as a result of sexual abuse, was aired back in 2001 (we can’t believe how long ago it was either).
Murderous Richard Hillman driving the Platts into the canal was voted second, followed by Hayley Cropper’s cancer battle.
The moment Dirty Den got shot in EastEnders and Corrie’s tram crash completed the top five in the poll which was commissioned by OnePoll.com.
Other storylines that ranked highly included Max and Stacey’s affair on Albert Square, Coronation Street’s domestic abuse plot featuring Tyrone and the body under the patio in Brookside.
