Time for a cuppa?
Like so many people, I enjoy a cup of coffee and I look forward to a mid-morning fix, but it’s a good idea to switch now and again to a healthier treat; a fresh juice or even a glass of water with some fresh lemon is great from time to time.
Everything in moderation is good, but if you feel you would like to embark on a healthier lifestyle, then eliminating caffeine from your diet is a good place to start.
Caffeine is said to have a negative effect on your adrenal health. To explain; our adrenal glands are at their most vulnerable when your body is tired and exhausted. Introducing caffeine makes your adrenal glands work overtime, and this can interfere with your natural system.
Too much caffeine can also affect the absorption of vitamins and minerals, as well as up the amount of triglycerides into our bodies, while the acidity is known to disturb your gut flora, which can lead to indigestion and heartburn.
However, there are alternatives out there for the coffee-lovers amongst us! There is a healthier alternative to enjoy on your coffee break – let me introduce Coffee Orzo.
I’ve been trying out some lovely samples of Coffee Orzo lately, and it’s yum! It’s also organic, and totally caffeine free.
It can be bought ground, roasted or instant like many other varieties, so you won’t feel like you’re missing out whilst out while on your health kick.
