Women use makeup to change a lot of things about our appearance but, believe it or not, there are some natural ways of getting the same sorts of results.
Here is how to get your desired effects the natural, and much more affordable, way…
Rosy Cheeks: swap blusher for fruit
This comes down to having healthy, glowing skin which means, you guessed it, lots of fruit and vegetables. Another thing you might want to try is applying a banana or cucumber face mask. For a quick fix on a night out, order something spicy like a curry. Then again, you might end up having to take those rosy cheeks of yours to the bathroom.

Full Lips: swap lip gloss for kisses
Put down the lip gloss that makes your lips tingle and get puckering up for your other half. Kissing, and smiling, apparently increases the blood flow to your face which in turn makes your lips fuller. You can also do exercises with your mouth which will achieve the same thing. But we reckon the smiling and kissing sounds much more fun, don’t you?

Long eyelashes: swap mascara for olive oil
Apparently olive oil and coconut oil help your lashes to grow. And we’re not talking about drinking the stuff, you just have to apply a touch to your lashes. If that stings too much, which we suspect it might for some, you can also eat your way to longer lashes. Again fruit, vegetables and protein are the things to eat.

Light under-eye circles: swap concealer for spoons
Forget the cucumbers and the teabags, all you need is something cold to put over your eyes. One such thing is a teaspoon. Cold things help to calm down the swelling and redness under your eyes when you are tired thus improving the appearance of your under-eye circles. Even still, we won’t be throwing away our Touche Éclat just yet!

Glossy Hair: swap hairspray for eggs
There are lots of different formulas about getting glossy hair the natural way. From dipping it in beer to running it under cold water, you can take your pick. We’ve decided to choose the even stranger option of rubbing raw eggs into your scalp and through your hair. And there we thought they were just good for scrambling!

White Nails: swap nail polish for milk
It’s what our mums used to tell us when we were younger and as it turns out, they were right! Drinking milk makes the tips of your nails nice and white but also makes them strong which means you shouldn’t have to lament over a broken one too often. Also when we have a glass of milk, we also like to have a bar of chocolate so really it’s a win-win situation.

While we’re not saying to abandon your makeup bag just yet, it’s handy to know for those days that you feel like going au natural.
