The US reality TV talent show American Idol has seen a lot of changes over the past few months. Not only are producers promising a better show than ever, but they’ve also made some serious changes to the judging panel.
First Jennifer Lopez left the show, citing the fact that she wanted to focus on her career and spend more time with her children as the main reason why she didn’t want to return for a third year (although rumours suggest she left because she wasn’t being paid enough). J.Lo was promptly replaced by Mariah Carey, who is reported to be earning an eye-watering $18million for her appearance, making her the highest earning reality TV judge of all time.

We’d be grinning too if we were making as much money as you Mariah…
And Mariah isn’t the only new addition. Oh no. Yesterday it was officially revealed that Nicki Minaj and Nicole Kidman’s hubby, Keith Urban have both signed up to judge on the new season of American Idol.
Nicki and Keith will join Mariah and Randy Jackson for the 12th season of the programme which is due to start airing on American television soon.
What do you think of the new judging line up for the show? Do you think Nicki and Keith are good additions or are you still trying to get over the insane amount of money Mariah will make for sitting in a chair for an hour at a time and making a few comments?
