Simon Cowell has finally spoken out and rubbished rumours that he had a devastating breakdown earlier this summer.
According to reports a few weeks ago, the music mogul and X-Factor judge, suffered through a horrific nervous breakdown after strains in his work and his personal life simply became too much for him to handle.
Tom Bower, the author who wrote a book about Simon, claimed that he had to withdraw from filming auditions for the US X-Factor when his frantic, hectic lifestyle saw him transform from cranky reality TV talent show judge to “weird vampire.”
Nice, right? We’re pretty sure if someone called us a “weird vampire” we’d have a nervous breakdown of sorts too.

Simon Cowell has confirmed that he did not have a breakdown earlier this summer.
Anyway, the good news is that Simon is okay. In fact, speaking recently, he told the ITV1 show Daybreak: “Reports of my, whatever it was, are a little bit exaggerated.”
“I mean I did turn my phone off for six weeks, because you know I had a lot going on. I would do it again next year. Just switch off, yeah, switch off for six weeks, concentrate on all the things that are important, and you don’t get all these crazy text messages and stuff,” Simon added.
We don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving yourself a little time out every now and then – we all know the benefits of a good social media blackout on the odd occasion. Either way, we’re happy that Simon is healthy and well – sure the X-Factor just wouldn’t be the same without him, would it?
