Simon Cowell, the king of reality TV talent shows, has admitted that he is unhappy about the fact that rival TV programme The Voice is clashing with the second series premiere of the US version of The X-Factor.
Simon, who is one of the main judges on The X-Factor, has said that he isn’t pleased that the third episode of The Voice, which will be aired on NBC, will be in direct competition against the first episode of the new series of The X-Factor.
“It is a spoiling tactic and it’s very simple – NBC doesn’t want people to see this first episode. I think it’s mean-spirited and I hope and I pray that it backfires on them because this is one of the best shows we’ve ever made,” said Simon, speaking to Access Hollywood.
“And I am p****d off about it because I think there’s kind of a gentlemen’s agreement, but you have to rely that the viewers will make the right selection,” he added.
This season, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato join Simon and L.A Reid on the judging panel for The X-Factor, and Simon hopes that the addition of some new judges will help boost overall ratings.
“I think there’s a lot of interest, rightly so, in our show because of Britney, Demi, the way the show is going to look, so we’re gonna see what happens. But I’ve learned don’t make any predictions!” Simon said.

Simon hopes having Britney Spears on board will boost the show’s ratings.
Simon also revealed that the hosts for the new season have yet to be chosen, although there are rumours that Khloe Kardashian is set to be one of the front-runners in the race.
“I think we’re going to make a decision in about the next seven days. My gut feeling is we’ll probably go with a boy and a girl who haven’t had any hosting experience because I think that will make it more interesting,” said Simon.
Season two of the US X-Factor is set to premiere across the pond on September 12th. We wonder if Khole Kardashian will actually pick up the role of presenter?
